Looking forward to all the pics you are going to snap for me @ driftwood, Adam Mclevey's first solo show in Bristol. They've been awfully strict in giving peeps previews so I guess you all need to be at the opening! The concept seems quite interesting!

"All of the materials in these pieces echo the people in the portraits. Everything is stuff that's been cast off from a house. They're all the remnants of living someplace, the bits that get chucked out before a house gets scrubbed down for a happy new family to move in."

Okay, now the things that you've been waiting for: The preview! Details where and when are right here.

First..! (yeh I know I'm a whore for the 'exclusives') HUGE stuff infront of the Bristol University. Adam Mclevey, SPQR and FAKE are responsible for this. Since I'm a lazy basterd, here's what I found in my e-mail:

"Bristol University and Upfest invited regional artists Adam Mclevey, SPQR and Dutch artist FAKE to temporarily hang 30ft pieces of street art from the front of the Bristol University building on Queens Road.

FAKE: This 30-foot artwork is titled FAKE LOVE
and is actually made with a 20ft hand cut stencil on a 30ft backdrop

Adam Mclevey: This 30-foot crashing police car was painted freehand,
and has been recreated for prints as an A2 stencil.

SPQR: Two of SPQR's 'CCTV Coppers' have been done on a large scale, each standing about 25 feet tall."

Weston, described by local artist Adam Mclevey as "Bristol's sleepy cousin, where there's no scene whatsoever" just woke up with a hangover and the smell of paint still in its streets. Jen Barnett organized the Weston Paint jam to wake the town up out of it's scene-less existance. More on that later, first a few pics!

Now this is just classic! Mr Mclevy thought it was a good idea to walk into the Bristol museum during the Banksy expo, and put one of his own works down there. Does that remind you of someone?
