They might have a website that makes my browser crash like MySpace, but Brooklynite gallery (yes, in Brooklyn) has it going on! The upcoming exhibition is a duo show with C215 and Eelus. C215, I think most of us know because of his mad cutting skills and bold street work all over the world.
Eelus just had his first solo show in the UK this year and had nothing but great reviews. No wonder, because his works are an ultimate mix between the real and surreal. I'm certainly looking forward to this one.

C215's solo show @ the Signal gallery in London is almost over (07/08 - be quick!). Luckily Nicole had a little visit to see what he was up to this year. Now like the good man promised in the most recent interview we did with him, is that he would elevate his style this year. One difference between this years work and his work of the last years is obvious: Color. Striking colors come at you in every piece, giving them a more positive feel. Another difference is that his older work was mostly inspired by observation. The stencils that Christian Guemy (real name) placed on the streets, were part of the streets like homeless people, animals and kids. Nowadays Christian lets himself be inspired by the people around him and his own memories, which make for a positive transition from the sometimes harsh reality to the mind of the artist and person himself.
Check all the photos after the read more. Big up to Nicole Blommers for all the pictures and background info.

I know I keep on ranting about C215, but that's not without a reason. Christian Guemy aka C215 still knows how to capture my imagination. This installation in Moscow is another example of the way this man can re-invent himself, just like he told us in the interview we did in the beginning of this year.

C215 is going bigger than ever this year! In Italy he had some amazingly huge pieces, and now this amazing piece of his 7 year old daughter Nina in Montry, France. Gotta love it!

Unfortunately, C215 will not be present at the Amsterdam Street Art event. But the most exciting stencil artist we've encountered in a while did give the city of Amsterdam a quick visit. Two new pieces were placed and they're awesome as ever. It's always exciting having amazing things like this added to our city streets! Pictures by Nicole Blommers and C215 himself.
