If there's one place filled with aerosol magicians, it's Barcelona. We often report on this city, because it's just filled with talents. DYSO is one of these, marking the city with a wicked wild/3d style. Check some of his work out right here. Pictures by street art photographer Mikel Falcon.
I don't know where this is exactly, because Mikel Falcon shows us parts of the city of Barcelona not a lot of people besides the hardcore artists get to see. Check out this nice series in a derilict factory building somewhere, which is obviously transformed into a quality hall of fame!
First thing I saw this morning, guess that needed to be on crackforyoureyes. When I logged into Flickr I came across theworks of Rallito-X, which is really interesting. Rallito-X is Barcelona based artist who draws the best dickheads :). He also has a Rallito-X comic. Anyhow, check out some of his work, and check out the website, myspace and flickr account of this artist.
aah Barcelona.. Everytime we see the photostream of Mikel Falcon we long back for the city! It's like they have an endless supply of walls, spraypaint and talent in that city..and as a result it attracts even more artists from all across the globe. Also..you can get tequila shots for less then a euro over there..that's just not healthy!
This week, I was browsing the site of our newest BFF (obviously, you should know that is sweet-station.com) and came across a very nice interview with Frank Plant. His work is so unique that I instantly remembered where I knew him from.. We were supposed to do a feature with him like a year ago! Luckily they aced the interview @ sweet station, and we'll get back to Frank in a little while.
Found these on Flickr. Impressive piece made with charcoal in Barcelona. The piece is made by Jorge Rodríguez Gerada. The first image is 2006, second from 2009. Pictures made by xixarel1 and troballola.
You never forget the first time in Barcelona. You turn a corner and BANG!.. You're at another amazing wall of fame. This one is @ Carrer de Carrera, near the end of La Rambla @ the coast line.Check a few more teasers @ the read more, or just watch the full slideshow right here.
Just to let you know, our ramble about documentation wasn't for nothing. From now on, we'll feature a new street art photographer every now and then, because without them, we'd have nothing to show for :).
First up: Mikel Falcon from Barcelona! We came across Mikel's stream after we've been trying to document some of Barcelona's finest walls ourselves and we thought we had done quite a good job, but Mikel showed us that we only captured the tip of the iceberg: Mikel has a Flickr account with more then 14000(!!!) picures of street art / graffiti in and around BCN. He's been discribed as the Google of graffiti in Barcelona and he's out on the streets every day to take more pictures. We get lost in his photostream on a regular basis and are always curious what is coming up there tomorrow. For us, Mikel Falcon is one of the great!
First time Barcelona was already more then a year and a half ago. We were just blown away by the street-art out there, so we'll show you some flix from the old shoebox. @ Carrer de Tarragona they were constructing at the time, and the wall turned into a sick style war. Check out the whole show here. More soon!
